Wirelss Broadband‚ or WiBro‚ a Korean-made MOBILE wireless technology‚ is likely to be standardized that is adopted as the sixth standard of the third generation.
According to the Information and Communication Ministry on Wednesday‚ the decision is going to be made at Radiocommunication Assembly scheduled from the 15th to 19th in Geneva.
FIFTEEN Korean experts from the ministry and major telecommunication and electronics firms in Korea are attending the assembly to support the adoption of WiBro.
Once selected‚ WiBro can use IMT-2000 frequency which enables global roaming.
That is it is expected to expand consumer base in foreign countries and build more economic network than cdma-2000 or W-CDMA.
