The Pusan International Film Festival is rolling as Haeundae Beach is now the busiest area of Busan.
That's because high-profile movie bigwigs‚ directors and actors are sailing to this scenic port city to take part in the festival.
SON HEEKYUNG‚ REPORTER: "Changing the main venue to Haeundae Beach from Nampodong district certainly looks successful so far. The beach is the city's hot tourist spot and is packed with people hoping to get a glimpse of their favorite stars. Korean actor Ahn Sung-gi and veteran Hong Kong star Andy Lau held an open talk session onstage‚ where visitors had a rare opportunity to ask questions to the actors."
Hundreds of people turned up to see the two stars who say the secret behind their long film careers is their love for cinema and fans.
Movie theaters on Haeundae Beach are filling up with visitors who want to watch a diverse array of movies.
The festival is screening 245 films from 63 countries.
VISITOR: "I came all the way from Seoul to see movies during the film festival. I didn't want to miss this rare opportunity to see a large number of films."
One of the day's highlights was the news conference for the new jury‚ which includes renowned film festival winners and award-winning Hungarian director Istvan Szabo.
So what does Szabo think is appealing about films.
ISTVAN SZABO‚ HUNGARIAN DIRECTOR: "Through the help of films‚ I can learn something new about human beings‚ about the human face and about human feelings or even about a group or a country."
Also on the jury is Korean actress Moon So-ri.
MOON SO-RI‚ KOREAN ACTRESS: "As an actress‚ I might see things differently than directors. I'll earnestly judge as a big film fan."
Over the next seven days‚ the festival will pack a serious cinematic punch to just about anyone here in Busan.
