Another round of ratings cuts for the embattled eurozone economies. On Monday‚ global credit rating agency Moody's cut the ratings of SIX European countries.
On the list: Italy‚ Spain and Portugal‚ as well as Slovakia‚ Slovenia and Malta.
The rating agency slashed Spain's rating by two notches to A1 while Italy and Portugal saw their ratings knocked down by one notch each‚ to A2 and Ba3‚ respectively.
In a statement‚ Moody's blamed the downgrades on uncertainty related to Europe's ongoing debt crisis and its "increasingly weak macroeconomic prospects".
The agency also said it now has a negative outlook for three triple-A rated countries: Austria‚ France and the United Kingdom.
