It looks like a global credit ratings agency might stick to its word on downgrading Italy's current A+ rating to triple-B by the end of this month.
Fitch Ratings announced on Wednesday that a two-notch downgrade for Italy is a possible option‚ after assessing the country's refinancing levels and economic growth.
The Senior Director of Fitch Ratings Alessandro Settepani said the European fiscal proposal will be considered before any final decision is made on an Italy downgrade.
Earlier last week‚ Fitch Ratings announced it will most likely end up cutting the credit ratings of Italy‚ Spain‚ Belgium‚ Ireland‚ Slovenia and Cyprus by the end of January.
