Foreign tourists to Korea are spending less money than they have in nine years.
The Bank of Korea says non-residents' spending decreased 4-percent compared to last year to 1.9 trillion won‚ or 2 billion U.S. dollars in the first half of this year.
The central bank attributes the change to the strengthened won against the greenback‚ and a weak education and leisure infrastructure.
Korean tourists‚ meanwhile‚ spent a record amount overseas so far this year as more people travel abroad for their medical and educational needs.
