President Park Geun-hye has joined Forbes' list of "The World's One Hundred Most Powerful Women‚" coming in at 11th.
This is the first time President Park has made the list‚ and she is the only Korean to be chosen as one of the one-hundred women who are‚ as Forbes put it‚ "re-defining power" around the world.
The U.S. business magazine introduced President Park as Korea's first female president‚ noting that she was elected with the nation's highest voter turnout rate in 15 years.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel topped this year's list‚ with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff coming second‚ followed by Melinda Gates‚ the co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation‚ U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama and former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
