For the first time since China's new leader Xi Jinping assumed power‚ high-level officials from Korea and China held strategic talks in Beijing on Monday.
Korea's Foreign Ministry says its delegation‚ led by Vice Foreign Minister Ahn Ho-young will be meeting with their Chinese counterparts‚ including Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Zhijun for two days of discussions.
The two sides are expected to discuss issues of mutual interest‚ like developing bilateral relations and curbing North Korea's nuclear ambitions.
Xi assumed leadership of China's Communist Party and head of the military commission earlier this month.
