President Lee is now flying over to Myanmar after wrapping up his three-day stay in Beijing.
President Lee is the first South Korean president to visit Myanmar in 29 years‚ since North Korea's bomb attack targeting then South Korean President Chun Doo-hwan left 17 people dead‚ including senior South Korean government officials and reporters.
Later on this Monday‚ the Korean leader is scheduled to hold summit talks with his Myanmarese counterpart Thein Sein‚ and discuss ways to strengthen their ties in economic affairs‚ and resource and energy development.
The visit is also drawing interest about whether the Korean president will meet with Myanmar's opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
