Korea's Foreign Minister Kim Sung-hwan will visit Myanmar on Tuesday - the first visit to the country by a Korean foreign minister in 27 years.
Minister Kim is expected to discuss expanding development and economic cooperation between the two countries‚ in light of recent political reforms that have already lead to tremendous change.
However‚ the Korean minister has no plans to meet with the head of Myanmar's opposition Aung San Suu Kyi.
Minister Kim will start his trip with a stop in Bangkok Monday‚ where he is scheduled to discuss bilateral cooperation in trade‚ energy and defense with his Thai counterpart‚ and pay a courtesy call to Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra .
