Former chairwoman of the ruling Grand National Party Park Geun-hye has called on the South Korean government to suggest to North Korea that the two sides start afresh to rebuild trust.
Yonhap News said Monday that‚ Park recently stressed to the US-based Foreign Affairs magazine‚ that the two Koreas need to learn to trust each other while adding that the international community should show Pyeongyang that provocative acts can no longer be tolerated.
Park's comments seem to imply her intention to engage in a more aggressive dialogue with the North‚ if she is elected President next year.
