The number one reactor at Korea's Wolsong Nuclear Power Generation complex‚ located more than 2-hundred kilometers southeast of Seoul‚ will be back online early Monday morning.
The reactor‚ which went into operation in 1983‚ underwent safety enhancement work that replaced the control systems and added a device to prevent hydrogen explosions‚ even in a power blackout.
The number one reactor will ungergo a test run over the weekend and begin producing electricity at full capacity as early as 1 a.m. Monday.
Regarding the resumption of operation‚ some local residents and anti-nuclear power activists have lodged protests‚ calling for a complete shutdown.
