President Lee Myung-bak held a bilateral summit on Tuesday with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak who is visiting Korea to reciprocate President Lee's visit to Malaysia in December.
President Lee and the prime minister discussed ways to boost cooperation in a wide range of fields including the economy‚ trade‚ science and technology‚ and energy.
Earlier in the day‚ while visiting the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry‚ the Malaysian premier acknowledged that the two countries have been developing relations in various sectors since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1960 and said that business leaders on both sides should play a pivotal role in expanding economic cooperation.
