And as we're entering the second day of on-site inspections of Pyeongchang for its bid to host the 2018 Winter Olympics visiting members of the International Olympic Committee Evaluation Commission inspected the main Olympic venues on Thursday.
Our reporter Choi Won-young is standing by in Alpensia to tell us more.

The second day of inspections finished at five p.m. here in Pyeongchang and the IOC Evaluation Commission members have returned to their hotel rooms after a busy day.
They began at nine in the morning by visiting the Ski Jump tower at Alpensia‚ where they were briefly given an on-site presentation.
They then moved on to the stadiums for cross-country skiing and the biathlon where the National Winter Sports Festival is currently taking place.
Eight out of the 14 visiting delegates have already been to Pyeongchang for the previous bid inspections but what they saw today is a lot different from before as the stadiums that once only existed on paper are now standing ready to host the international event.
More than half of the stadiums needed have been built enabling presenters to show the actual sites this time around rather than let the evaluators use their imaginations.
As for the other venues that have not been built yet such as the Olympic Village in Alpensia and the alpine ski slopes in Jeongseon the on-site presentations had to be in more detail.
All of the presentations took place behind closed doors but every little corner of the city they went the evaluation team was overwhelmingly greeted by local residents.
The locals said they really want to see Pyeongchang bring home its first Winter Games believing that they are more prepared than ever as this is their third attempt.
The inspection ends on Saturday so what's next on the schedule for the commission[Reporter :
] Since they looked around the snow sports venues today the evaluation team will head to Gangneung tomorrow‚ a roughly 30-minute drive from Alpensia‚ to inspect the ice sports venues.
But before heading to the eastern coastal city‚ more presentations on topics such as Pyeongchang's financial status‚ marketing strategies and customs processes will be given by the bidding committee in the morning.
Final briefings on security issues‚ medical services‚ media management and technology will take place on Saturday morning before ending the entire process with a press conference at 5:30 p.m.
The commission will leave the country on Sunday.
