The real gross domestic product of the United States is expected to grow by more than 3.4 percent this year.
According to the January minutes of the Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee‚. that were revealed Wednesday‚ committee members revised up their forecast for output growth in 2011 to a range of 3.4 percent to 3.9 percent.
This is slightly higher than the previous projection of 3 to 3.6 percent that was released in November last year.
The committee noted that their confidence in the sustained recovery was supported by the strength in household spending‚ business investment‚ industrial production and exports.
However‚ the committee said they expected the unemployment rate in the US to remain high for the foreseeable future.
