The Justice Ministry has made an announcement to attract foreign capital into Pyeongchang County‚ a candidate location for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
At a press briefing held at Pyeongchang's Alpensia Resort on Friday‚ Justice Minister Lee Kwi-nam said that foreigners who purchase leisure-related properties at the resort worth 1-million US dollars or more will be given a five-year residence visa.
He added that the new policy will take effect this coming Monday and at the end of the five-year period foreigners are entitled to apply for permanent residence in Korea.
