President Lee Myung-bak says it is only a matter of time before electric vehicles dominate the streets of Korea and that day could come sooner than expected.
At a launching ceremony for the nation's first high-speed electric vehicle‚ the "BlueOn" Thursday morning President Lee stressed the importance of actively creating original technology for emission-less products and adapting it for daily use to prepare for the green growth generation.
Lee also spoke highly of the "BlueOn" made by Korea's top carmaker Hyundai Motors two years ahead of schedule. saying while it may be the world's second mass-produced electric vehicle it outperforms its Japanese rival‚ "i-MiEV" from Mitsubishi Motors.
