Britain's Business Secretary Peter Mandelson sat down with President Lee Myung-bak earlier Wednesday and agreed on the merits of a free trade agreement between Korea and the European Union.
Secretary Mandelson voiced hopes for more cooperation among British and Korean businesses particularly in the area of green growth and environmentally-friendly technology through the trade deal.
Korea and the EU are in the final stages of signing a bilteral FTA.
Mr. Mandelson also urged Korea to exihibit strong leadership at the G20 summit next year.
