Korea's construction equipment giant Doosan Group is seeking to buy Czech turbine maker Skoda Power in a deal reportedly worth about 800-billion won which is roughly 630 million US dollars.
Company officials say Doosan is seeking to sign a Memorandum of Understanding as early as August with the Czech power company which owns world-class turbine manufacturing facilities.
The company has been pursuing the deal since the beginning of this year as part of its efforts to establish a steadier equipment supply.
Details of the deal have yet to be released.
