Three vessels carrying hundreds of illegal migrants bound for Europe are believed to have capsized off the coast of Libya and more than 300 are feared to have drowned.
Egypt's state news agency reported Tuesday the Libyan search and rescue team saved 36 Egyptian passengers and recovered the bodies of some of those who drowned in the accident.
It is not immediately known how many passengers on the ships have died and what their nationalities are.
The ships reportedly sank in separate incidents due to stormy weather after setting sail from Libya's northern port‚ Sidi Bilah.
