These were the words the King of Spain directed at Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez during the Ibero-American Summit earlier this month.
King Juan Carlos' outburst came after the outspoken Venezuelan leader repeatedly referred to the former Spanish prime minister as a fascist‚ adding that fascists are not human and are worse than snakes.
Although Spain's current prime minister tried to respond to these remarks‚ he was constantly interrupted by President Chavez
This is when the king burst in asking him to shut up.
''Porque no se calla?''
Since then the king's spat has become a sensation in Spain.
Mugs‚ T-shirts and websites featuring this row have become an instant hit.
More than 500 thousand people have downloaded cellphone ringtones with the king's voice and the company providing this ringtone has made more than two million US dollars in ten days.
A small clothing store has also hit the jackpot by featuring a T-shirt with the now popular phrase‚ ''Why don't you shut up?''
Although the store usually sold about 800 T-shirts a year‚ more than one thousand of these shirts were sold in less than a week.
President Chavez has since asked for an apology from the King and has warned that Spanish companies in Venezuela could suffer from this incident.
But the BBC reported that the Spanish foreign minister said relations between the two countries will not suffer‚ and Spain has already taken steps to bring this issue to an end.
