Meanwhile‚ Washington's top diplomat says the U.S. is ready to resume talks over North Korea's nuclear programs‚ if Pyeongyang comes back to the dialogue table without any conditions.
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said in an interview with Reuters news agency that Pyeongyang needs to separate the talks‚ with U.S. actions against its suspected money laundering and dollar counterfeiting.
The U.S. has cracked down on several companies and a bank suspected to be involved in the North's alleged illicit activities.
North Korea has been refusing to restart the six-party nuclear talks that also involve South Korea‚ China‚ Japan and Russia‚ as long as Washington imposes financial sanctions against its regime.
As to how to resolve the deadlock‚ Secretary Rice said the North needs to "live up to the law."
