Soccer fans however got a shock when veteran midfielder Lee Eul-yong announced his retirement from international competition after the game.
Lee scored three goals in 51 A-matches after making his international debut in 1999 and is most remembered for his free kick goal against Turkey in the 2002 World Cup.
Korea however‚ has plenty of young blood to replace him.
The national team will play a friendly game against Ghana on October 8th three days before another Asian Cup qualifier against Syria.
Korea needs only a tie against Syria to advance to the 16-nation Asian Cup.
