Good afternoon. I’m Michelle Park here with the latest weather forecast. The cold spell continues. Currently‚ a cold wave advisory is in effect in some regions of the Gyeongsangbuk-do‚ Chungcheongbuk-do‚ and Gangwon-do provinces‚ especially in the mountainous regions. A dry weather advisory continues along with this frigid cold weather in the east side of the peninsula. So make sure to take extra caution when starting any fires.
It's less windy today with our daytime highs to be above freezing‚ higher than yesterday‚ but still about 2 degrees lower than the seasonal average.
We can expect clear skies across the nation today and it looks to stay that way until tomorrow when clouds are looking to move in.
Taking a look at the readings for today--Seoul will peak at [0] this afternoon and the southern cities of Gwangju and Busan will reach [5] and [7] degrees.
Moving over to other regions
Jeju island will get up to [8]‚ Dokdo hits [4] and Mount Kumgang reaches [-5].
