Heavy rain that poured down in the southern part of Korea on Thursday caused severe damage in the region.
In Gyeongsang and the Jeolla provinces‚ five people either drowned or were killed from landslides and electric shocks and two remain missing after being swept away by swift currents.
Over a thousand hectares of farmland have been flooded and in Busan more than 6-hundred houses and businesses were damaged and 3-hundred elementary schools closed temporarily.
The seasonal rain front has currently advanced north and more rain is expected in the central region of the country until Saturday night.
