On her final day in Uganda‚ President Park Geun-hye urged further cooperation with Uganda especially in the cultural sector. The statement came as the Korean leader watched cultural performances on Sunday including a B-boy dance‚ a taekwondo display and traditional performances from Korea and Uganda. Around 15-hundred people took part in the event‚ held at a hotel in Kampala. They included Korea's foreign minister Yun Byung-se and his Ugandan counterpart Henry Oryem Okello. President Park said art and culture has the power to tear down walls between people and create friendly relations. (KOREAN- MY TRANSLATION) "I hope Korea and Uganda put greater efforts into cultural exchanges and open up to each other. The Korean government will strive to create more opportunities to allow the citizens of both countries to communicate and become one. Thank you" ( . . "Wabale nnyo. ") President Park is more than half-way through a three-nation swing of East Africa. She's scheduled to travel to Nairobi on Monday to forge deeper economic and diplomatic ties with Kenya through summit talks with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta. Kim Mok-yeon‚ Arirang News.
