With no vaccine or treatment‚ health officials are resorting to primitive methods to stem the spread of the Zika virus. Brazil‚ which estimates around one-and-a-half million people have contracted the virus since May last year‚ is launching a campaign to educate citizens on how to combat the outbreak. Health authorities are also spraying insecticide to kill mosquitoes around public facilities in affected areas. The U.S.‚ which is strengthening efforts to fight the virus since it saw at least six confirmed cases in New York‚ Arkansas and Virginia‚ is also focusing on sharing information about the risks posed by the virus.
