North Korea says it is willing to return to the six-party nuclear talks without any preconditions.
This is according to its Korean Central News Agency on Tuesday which reported that its foreign ministry spokesman told Alexei Borodavkin‚ Russia's deputy foreign minister who wrapped up a four-day visit to Pyeongyang on Monday‚ that it is not opposed to putting its uranium enrichment program on the discussion table.
Russia has reportedly emphasized the importance of North Korea imposing a moratorium on nuclear tests and allowing International Atomic Energy Agency monitors back into its main nuclear complex.
And North Korea is apparently open to this request.
Some experts believe that Tuesday's statement appears to be aimed at drawing international attention to the impoverished regime and away from the ongoing unrest in the Arab World and Japan's deadly earthquake to obtain badly-needed aid.
