With Japan‚ the world's second largest importer of oil‚ more or less coming to a standstill‚ a resulting drop in demand caused global oil prices to plummet on Friday.
According to Korea National Oil Corporation‚ Korea's benchmark Dubai crude fell by 2-dollars-and-a-quarter‚ or just over 2 percent to close at 1-hundred-8 dollars and 30 cents a barrel.
It had surged to above a hundred and 10 dollars the day before.
Meanwhile‚ on Wall Street‚ West Texas crude for April delivery fell by 1-and-a-half percent to a-hundred-and-1 dollars and 16 cents a barrel.
And in London on the ICE futures exchange‚ Brent crude fell by nearly 1.4 percent to close at a-hundred-and-13 dollars and 84 cents a barrel.
