These soon-to-be moms are gathered at Geosan public health center in North Chungcheong Province waiting for their antenatal check-ups.
In the past‚ they would have to travel all the way to the nearest larger city‚ even for a minor check-up‚ but now they just have to sit and wait for the "Obstetrics Bus" to arrive.
And since foreign migrants make up majority of the residents in rural areas these medical buses‚ provided by the North Chungcheong provincial government‚ are said to be very helpful to those struggling to make the appointments on their own.

The mobile obstetrics clinic makes a tour once every month to about three different areas in the province‚ where there are no obstetrics or gynecology clinics available.

Geosan Public Health Center] "The bus runs once a month as of now‚ but we plan to run more often if there are more patients."

All the examinations are free-of-charge and for pregnant women only‚ and residents say they would like to see the bus visit their towns more often.
