It looks like more oil-producing countries are ready to join Saudi Arabia in stepping up output… in an effort to bring down soaring global oil prices.
According to the Financial Times on Monday‚ key member nations of OPEC‚… namely Kuwait‚ the United Arab Emirates and Nigeria… are planning to ramp up their production by as much as 300-thousand barrels per day by next month.
Industry officials say… the production increase by major oil suppliers almost makes up for the drop in supply following the Libya uprising.
Libya’s crude exports have fallen by around 1-million barrels… to some 580-thousand barrels per day.
OPEC controls around 40 percent of global oil supplies… and is currently looking at calling an emergency meeting.
