Japanese automobile manufacturers are reportedly using more Korean-made car parts.
Japan's Asahi Shimbun said on Wednesday that major Japanese auto companies including Mitsubishi and Nissan Motors are increasing their imports from Korea.
Overall‚ Mitsubishi imported about 20 percent of its parts from other countries this year‚ worth a total of 160 billion yen‚ or roughly 2 billion US dollars.
And Nissan is looking to enhance its price competitiveness using the less expensive components.
Korean parts are considered high quality and manufacturers expect to see their exports to Japan increase with the strong yen and weak won boosting their competitiveness.
