The development of mining industry‚ however‚ can necessarily cause the destruction of the environment‚ thus it can threat people's health and safety. It is because excavation‚ mining‚ ore separation and smelting caused the subsidence of land and other pollutants like effluent‚ stone waste and mining waste. The contaminants caused by the mining is not only highly polluting but also accumulative and diffusive‚ thus simply closing the mine does not solve continuous environmental damage. The mine damage that penetrates our life! Now‚ mine damage is not a problem of specific areas but a serious disaster that we all must take care of. Mine Reclamation Corporation Korea(MIRECO)‚ which was established in 2006‚ is headquartered in Seoul and have five branches in KyungIn‚ GangWon‚ ChungCheong‚ HoNam and YoungNam. The company focuses on efficiently restoring and offering following-up services of approximately 6000 abandoned mines throughout the nation. The areas of business that Mine Reclamation Corporation Korea(MIRECO) participates including forest restoration business damaged by mine development‚ land stabilization business that prevents big accidents caused by land subsidence‚ soil restoration business that improves contaminated soil‚ water improvement business for prevention of environmental pollution caused by mine drainage and leachate‚ and mine damage prevention business that deals with mines' noise‚ quake and dust.
