The candidates are expected to be back on the campaign trail soon.
As in previous elections the presidential hopefuls are trying to meet with as many voters as possible.
They're also trying to leave a lasting impression on the people they meet by showing a softer more endearing side of themselves.
Park Soojin reports.
They all have a common goal: to appear as friendly and approachable as possible to garner greater voter support.
But how they go about it is as different as their political philosophies.
For liberal candidate Chung Dongyoung the strategy is to hug his supporters as if to consolidate their backing through physical contact.
''Come on‚ give Mrs. Chung a big hug as well. She might be jealous.''
And he makes a point of holding his thumbs up to imprint a visual impression of his ballot number one to voters.
Chung's conservative rival Lee Myungbak on the other hand employs an indirect way of expressing his affection by making a heart shape with his two arms.
That however has shifted to a V-sign recently symbolizing both victory as well as his ballot number two.
Another trait that characterizes Lee's stumping is to arouse attention by asking questions directed to specific spectators.
''Would you do that for me? What about those of you at the back? And those across the street?''
Former Seoul Mayor Lee is also known for having numerous celebrities and entertainers accompanying him on the campaign trail to attract public attention.
Although independent candidate Lee Hoichang does not have as big and glamourous a platform as his rivals‚ the three-time presidential hopeful knows how to make the rounds.
And this time he is trying to lighten up his reputation by making jokes about himself.
''I have very short legs so they're left hanging on big comfortable chairs like these.''
Despite differences in the candidates' stumping style one thing is clear: presidential hopefuls are paying increasing attention to the need for an emotional approach in winning the hearts of the voters.
