So what changes are in store?
Well‚ for one‚ plans are underway to alter the protocol‚ at luncheon and dinner meetings‚ and the gender makeup of bodyguards and assistance.
These modifications will be conducted without much pomp and circumstance.
The changes have already started to occur.
The Prime Minister's Office says of the eight male bodyguards‚ two have been replaced with women.
The office added it is also looking to hire a female manager‚ who will be Prime Minister Han's right hand‚ shadowing her every move.
Prime Minister Han brings a unique and charismatic style to the job‚ as shown during her meeting with the head of Korea's main opposition party.
HAN MYUNG-SOOK‚ PRIME MINISTER: "Let me ask for your help."
PARK GEUN-HYE‚ GRAND NATIONAL PARTY CHAIRWOMAN: "I believe the people will feel many warm breezes."
The prime minister and the GNP leader met for around 10 minutes.
Park pointed out the importance of the May 31st local elections.
Han responded by saying‚ as the main opposition party has strongly requested‚ she will try her best to remain politically neutral during the election season.
On Thursday‚ Prime Minister Han received a letter of appointment from President Roh Moo-hyun‚ marking her official start as the prime minister of Korea.
