[Reporter : ] We continue to experience freezing weather in Korea.
Any plans to get away from the climatic reality we face today If you mean travel plans I'd like to visit some place warm.
I believe I was in Hawaii this time last year.
I'd like to go back.
[Reporter : ] Our focus first is on Russia.
Here in Korea‚ where it's considerably warmer‚ we yearn for warmth and beaches.
So it's no surprise an astonishing number of Russian visitors to Cuba.
The two countries‚ had a falling out period in the 90s.
But now‚ thanks to tourism‚ it seems like they are going to grow closer than ever.
Russia now ranks 8th on Cuba's tourist arrivals list.
The sun the sand and the distinctly charming culture are helping to draw record levels of Russian tourists to Cuba.
As an increasing number of Russians hit up spots like Varadeo‚ a classic beach resort outside Havana more than 76-thousand Russian tourists visited Cuba last year.
According to Cuba's tourist board that's more than double the amount in 2009.
Contributing greatly to this trend is the rising advertisement in Russia about Cuba‚ word of mouthand increased flights between Havana and Saint Petersburg.
Another obvious reason for Russian tourists' decision to fly over to sunny Cuba is the plummeting temperatures in their snow-covered home country.
The Soviet Union was once Cuba's biggest ally.
But its 1991 fall distanced it from the active communist country.
Thanks to tourism‚ their relationship may grow stronger than ever.
At the Disney World theme park in Florida US President Barack Obama announced his plans to help boost the country's tourism sector and create more jobs.
First he ordered the streamlining of applications for foreign tourist visas to the country.
The people of Florida listened in and welcomed the modest package of reforms as theirs is a state heavily dependent on the tourist industry.
The visa change is the latest measures rolled out by Obama to show voters he is serious about boosting the still-sluggish labor market.
The White House estimated that more than 1 million US jobs could be created in the next decade if the country increased its share of the international travel market.
The US must work fast‚ as emerging economies like China‚ Brazil and India will continue to see sharp in spikes in the number of visitors to their countries.
The Mali Desert Festival is on‚ once again.
Considered as one of the most authentic musical gatherings this event is also highly praised by legendary rocker Robert Plant.
Unfortunately‚ the treat of al Qaeda including a spate of hostage-takings across the region the turnout is not as great as it was in the past 10 years.
This year‚ around 300 paying tourists attended‚ that's around half the number in 2011.
The 3-day event was also attended by around 3-thousand non-paying Malians.
More than just about musical performances the event also provides economic opportunity to desert tribes.
All kinds of traditional jewelry and artefacts of the desert are sold.
The events were well organized according to visitors.
Tthe added security at the venue in the ancient Saharan city of Timbuktu helped rehearsals and events to flow smoothly.
