It's time for the stars among the stars to earn their recognition for shining brighter than the rest.
Before the red carpet is rolled out‚ there are many other preparation steps‚ including the production of the trophy for the winners.
The 17th Screen Actors Guild or the SAG Awards is right around the corner.
In order to meet the January 30th deadline‚ last minute preparations are underway even as we speak.
One of the most important tasks for the event organizers is creating what the winners will take home with them.
The famed "Actor" statuette.
Each statuette stands 16 inches tall including the polished black granite base and weighs in at 12 pounds.
Cast in solid bronze and coated with a green-black patina‚ the trophy is given a one-of-a-kind finishing touch.
The first SAG award was presented in 1995 and since then‚ 660 of the "Actor" have been handed out to their rightful owners.
This year‚ the number of categories for the award remains the same‚ but lots of extra trophies had to be made.
The reason The 21st International Luxury Watch Fair was held in Geneva and it confirmed that the luxury goods market is well on its way to a strong recovery for 2011‚ with over 12-thousand visitors flocking the event venue.
After its worst slump in decades‚ buoyant demand in Asia for high-end items helped revive the market.
Sales in the Asia-Pacific region rose 42 percent in local currencies‚ beating analysts' forecasts.
And with standard of living going no where but up in Asia's biggest market‚ China‚ the trend towards recovery is stronger than ever.
19 Jewelers and watchmakers were present to display their new collections for the eager visitors in the Luxury Watch Fair.
Most of the brands have plans to continue expanding in China.
In 80 AD‚ a Roman amphitheater was completed and it set the stage for gladiator fights‚ mock sea battles‚ animal shows and more.
Today it is one of the most famous monuments from the ancient world‚ but unfortunately‚ the ravages of time has taken a toll on this piece of Roman history.
Only 35 percent of the structure is now open to the public‚ with restoration required in various parts of the majestic structure.
The sad reality is that Italy is one of the most heavily indebted countries in Europe‚ meaning that funds are short and the government can't afford to continue the much needed restoration project.
In order to plug the 32 million US dollar gap‚ they needed a miracle.
And that miracle came in the name of Diego Della Valle‚ the CEO of an Italian shoes and leather goods company "Tod's."
There has never been a more appropriate time for Italy to say the words your country's indebted to you.
