The results of the "Best Job in the World" contest are in.
Tourism Queensland has named a British man its "island caretaker" for the next six months.
Sadly this means that Arirang Radio's own Kim Juweon who was a member of the final 16 candidates will return home to Seoul.
But Kim did get a chance to enjoy the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef along with candidates from 15 other countries.
The winner Ben Southall is a 34-year-old Briton who beat out 34‚000 other applicants.
For the next six months he will be paid $150‚000 Australian dollars to enjoy Hamilton Island live in a luxurious 3 bedroom ocean view house and share his experiences with the world via an internet blog.
He describes himself as a dynamic outgoing go-getter.
Contest officials said that he had a unique point of view about the job and the ability to attract a loyal following.
The tourism ministry launched the "Best Job in the World" contest in a bid to promote tourism for the Great Barrier Reef and the surrounding areas.
The job begins on July 1st of this year.
In India's northern province one girls' school is using drama and the theatrical arts as a tool for personality development amongst their students.
Most of the pupils come from backgrounds of financially hardship so in a bid to boost their self-esteem school officials decided to unleash the power of theater.
The program coordinator says that drama teaches students a unique and rewarding way to lead their lives through the careful examination of human behavior.
The workshop is one-month long and consists of studies related to drama skills communication techniques public speaking and even computer skills.
Students say they emerge from the program more confident speaking in front of others while others say they feel more empowered to follow their dreams.
One student said the course helped her visualize what her future life could be by stepping into the shoes of another if only for a brief moment.
A Russian environmentalist is on a quest to revive a rare species of goose.
Russia's Aleutian islands were named after the species of goose with the distinctive white neck ring but the population of the geese was decimated to near-extinction in the 1800s after fur farmers introduced foxes to the area.
By 1967 experts believed that there were only 500 Aleutian geese remaining in the world.
A Russian breeding center began operations in 1992 in an effort to change the course of the population decline.
Since then hundreds of geese have been born and last year 50 birds and their offspring were reported to have been enjoying their winter holidays in Japan.
