Now‚ on a different note we are just one day away from the grand opening of the IAAF World Championships 2011 in Korea's southeastern city of Daegu.

And‚ word is championship fever is in FULL swing down in Daegu. Let's go to our special correspondent to the championships Song Ji-sun at the Daegu stadium to get a feel of what's it's like down there.
Hi‚ Ji-sun so‚ the opening is tomorrow and everything is ready and set to go‚ I presume[Reporter : ] Hi Conn-young‚ Seann‚ yes‚ as we've reported before‚ all the preparations are well underway.
And with just a day to go‚ the World Championships have already marked many "firsts" in terms of records even before the actual event gets underway.
1-thousand 945 athletes from 202 countries will be taking part which is the largest number in the competition's history.
It is also the first time that an athletes' village was built to accommodate the participants in the Championships.
The organizing committee did a very efficient job‚ hosting the event‚ by making use of Daegu Stadium which was originally built for the 2002 World Cup.
All the facilities in the stadium were renovated with the latest equipment and technology over the past four years to support the athletes in their attempts to break records.
Wonderful. And it seems the Athletics' most popular stars landed at the city just yesterday! And what's the latest with the 100-meter sprinters[Reporter : ] Yes‚ the Daegu airport was bustling with fans‚ supporters and a lineup of press waiting for the event's biggest stars on Thursday.
China's megastar 110-meter hurdler Liu Xiang was greeted with cheers‚ and pole vaulting's most coveted star‚ Russian Yelena Isinbayeva landed later in the evening.
However‚ we have some disappointing news for many of the fans who were anticipating the 100-meter showdown between world record holder Usain Bolt and the season's fastest sprinter‚ Asafa Powell.
Powell's lingering groin injury stopped him from competing here in Daegu.
He was scheduled to appear at Jamaican team's press conference Thursday afternoon‚ but was replaced with teammate Michael Frater.
Powell marked 9.78 seconds over Bolt's 9.88 seconds this season.
With Bolt's biggest competitor out of the picture‚ it may mean Bolt‚ who has also been recovering from an injury‚ has a much better chance over getting the gold.
[Interview : Usain Bolt‚ Jamaican sprinter] "This season for me is a comeback season‚ so for me I don't think I'm in my fine shape‚ but I definitely think I will be able to run fast.
Well‚ it seems like the superstar sprinter has a better shot at defending his title this time.
So‚ what will be happening down there today[Reporter : ] An official Welcome Night is scheduled this evening at a local outdoor auditorium‚ starting at 7:30.
Famous K-pop stars‚ such as BoA and Super Junior will be performing for the city and the athletes in this one of the world's biggest sporting events.
It's a bit cloudy here in Daegu right now‚ and some light showers are forecast on Saturday‚ but the sun will break out again on Sunday.
