This little rascal is the fastest robot in Korea and it was made right here.
It can run a 100-meter track in just 18 seconds‚ which comes out to about 20 kilometers an hour.
The "Cheetahroid" is the third fastest in the world‚ following the ones made by MIT and a U.S.-based robot development company.
So what is so special about the Korean version?
The beauty is in this device‚ which imitates muscle movement.
It was developed by researchers at Sogang University‚ who studied man's best friend with the help of motion capture technology.
"We thought that the best way to develop a fast robot would be to analyze the movement of a fast animal and apply it to our model."
The structure of the model is fairly simple and uses less energy than its predecessors.
The best part is that this could also be used to help save lives.
Researchers are experimenting with the idea of attaching a camera or infrared imaging system to the robot‚ which would enable it to explore fire sites‚ be used as military patrol and even to strengthen a home security system.
