It looks like a popular Korean TV series will be airing for the first time in a European country.
Beginning in mid February Hungary's government-run station MTV will begin airing "Dae Jang Geum‚ " a 2003 TV series based on the first female royal physician of the Joseon Dynasty.
The series will air two times a week for six months for a total of 70 episodes.
A representative of MTV Hungary said Dae Jang Guem‚ also known as "Jewel in the Palace" in English‚ was chosen for its cultural and educational values and also for its marketability.
A Korean ambassador said airing the series on a national public station will be instrumental in introducing Korea's popular culture to Hungary and the rest of Europe.
