With only a day left before Korea and the U.S. officially kick off their third round of free trade talks chief negotiators from the two sides clarified their postions in Seattle.
The head of Seoul's delegation Kim Jong-hoon said in a news briefing that talks will primarily be on the tariff cut proposal and opening of the two countries' service and investment sectors.
At a separate news conference the U.S. trade representative Wendy Cutler said Seoul should impose its trade regulations equally to large and small businesses.
Though trade talks are scheduled to begin Thursday Korea time officials got an early start with discussions on rules of origin and customs procedures.
