The Korea Brand and Entertainment Expo kicked off in London on Monday to bring Korean cultural content into European markets.
K-pop superstars 2NE1 warmed up the venue with a special performance for a sea of enthusiastic fans.
"They are so cool. Their fashion and they have so much swag. They are very cool."
At the expo‚ 50 companies in the entertainment and IT sectors talked business with interested European buyers.
In particular‚ the Korean animation company Iconix‚ best known for its popular character Pororo‚ signed a contract with a Finnish broadcasting company to air the program in Finland.
"in all these new digital areas of entertainment and of other applications in other parts of the economy‚ so I feel very optimistic that we can build good relationships together."
The fair coincides with President Park Geun-hye's visit to Europe this month‚ during which she is hoping to pave the way for more Korean companies like these which are seeking new export channels on the continent.
The expo continues through Wednesday.
