On the local bourse Monday‚ the benchmark KOSPI finished nearly flat‚ but still managed to close at an over two-year high of 2‚53.
Foreign investors also continued their buying spree for a 37th consecutive session on Monday to extend the longest streak on record.
They bought more than 190-billion won‚ or 180-million U.S. dollars worth of local shares.
Analysts project a rosy outlook for the local bourse‚ saying the resolution of the U.S. government shutdown and debt ceiling impasse as well as improved economic indicators out of China will keep the momentum going for the time being.
