Austrian film director Michael Haneke 's latest movie "Amour" has won the annual Cannes film festival's most prestigious Palme d'Or award.
Haneke‚ who had already tasted victory in Cannes three years ago with his film "The White Ribbon‚" now joins the ranks of a handful multiple award winning filmmakers.
"Amour" tells the story of an elderly couple struggling to cope after one of them suffers a series of strokes.
The two Korean films that were nominated this year‚ however‚ Im Sang-soo 's "The Taste of Money" and Hong Sang-soo 's "In Another Country‚" fell short of winning an award.
