A dictionary that contains various facts about the Dokdo islets‚ including its history and geography‚ has been published in Korea.
The book is the brainchild of the state-run Korea Maritime Institute under the Prime Minister's office.
The dictionary contains over 1-thousand entries about Dokdo along with 28 maps backing up the government's claim that the islets have long belonged to Korea.
It also lists relevant international laws regarding the easternmost territory.
The Dokdo Dictionary is the result of 3 years of extensive research conducted by 69 experts in various fields.
The book will be supplied to libraries‚ universities and research institutions in Korea absolutely free.
The English version of the Dokdo Dictionary will be published and distributed to various organizations around the world next year.
