On the first day of making inquiries to the government at the National Assembly on Tuesday‚ lawmakers focused their questions on the way President Lee Myung-bak purchased a piece of land in Seoul to build a house for his retirement days.
The main opposition Democratic Party's Lew Seon-ho criticized the government for allowing President Lee's son to purchase the property on behalf of his father‚ saying such an act is unethical.
In response‚ Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik said no laws or regulations have been violated in the process of the property acquisition‚ and that President Lee's purchase of the land from his son will be in accordance with the relevant laws.
