Thirty names of war veterans who fought and died during the Korean War were called out one by one at the Korean War Memorial in Seoul on Saturday morning.
At the ceremony marking the 61st anniversary of the start of the Korean War‚ attendees braved the rain and paid a silent tribute to the fallen patriots.

The ceremony aimed at reminding people of the lives that were sacrificed during the 1950 to 1953 war was attended by about 4-thousand people‚ including veterans and government officials.
Although over six decades have now past‚ memories of the tragic war still remain fresh in the veterans' minds.

As part of the ceremony‚ 120 university students took off for an 11-day tour of Korea's national battlefields.
Starting from Paju in Gyeonggi Province they will visit the Korean War's major battlefields across the country‚ including the Military Demarcation Line‚ the land border that separates the two Koreas.
