Korean sports stars will be asked to donate their time and experience to the nation's elementary‚ middle‚ and high schools as a way to reinvigorate physical education at schools.
The education ministry says this "talent bank" program is one of six measures the government will implement to boost student interest in the subject.
The ministry says that it will first compile the personal information of sportsmen and women who are willing to offer their time and talent before directly connecting the athletes with local schools.
Under the program‚ schools can invite athletes to visit them as part-time PE instructors.
