This month marks the first year since the establishment of the Global Green Growth Institute. Could you tell us how the year-long journey has been and major achievements of the institution[Interview : Han Seung-soo‚ Chairman
Global Green Growth Institute] "Yes. Although this is headquartered in Seoul‚ this is international global institute. Many people think that this is a think tank‚ but I say not think-tank but think-and-action tank. ** And during President Lee Myung-bak's state visit to Denmark‚ he opened our office there. Copenhagen office‚ GGGI office of Copenhagen. And in July‚ I'm going to Abu Dhabi to open Abu Dhabi office‚ GGGI's Abu Dhabi office. But apart from that the President also went to Denmark and agreed with the Prime Minister Rasmussen to form a green growth alliance. Alliance of this kind is the first kind in the world. And we hope to expand this alliance to include other countries that are interested in observing‚ as well as promoting green growth within and outside of the boundaries. ** But all in all‚ I think this last year was a very‚ very busy year. But this is only one-year-old institution‚ very still young. I should say it's still an infant. But I think the fact that there is a great demand for the knowledge on the green growth all over the world‚ and that we've been doing our share of our responsibility reasonably well."
[Interview : Camera: Hong Soon-bae‚ Park Se-joon] "Korea has been making its utmost efforts in green growth both in Korea and on the global stage‚ how has this move been received and accepted by the international community[Interview : Han Seung-soo‚ Chairman
Global Green Growth Institute] "Complimentality of growth‚ environmental and climate sustainability can go together with growth. This is a new paradigm and this paradigm we call‚ "Low Carbon‚ Green Growth"‚ and Korea is the country that is promoting very actively through the government policies. And we are in the process of trying to share this knowledge with the least developed and developing countries‚ because most of the developing countries have capacity‚ domestic capacity to emulate what we are doing without our cooperational help‚ but developing country do not have domestic capacity to observe what we are doing. So‚ we are trying to share with them our knowledge and share our experience with them‚ so that they can leap over the development process not going through this way‚ but leap over the process to shorten the period of development. So I think so far the response has been very good."

Global Green Growth Institute] "Well‚ in the area of green growth‚ I think we are already in the forefront‚ because two years ago as Prime Minister of Korea‚ I was Chair of the OECD Minister Counselor Meeting in 2009‚ and there I was able to explain what they are doing and all the members and ministers‚ who attended the counselor meeting. They agreed to unanimously adopt the declaration of green growth‚ and this year after two years later‚ OECD produced huge document of green growth‚ not only OECD but the UNEP‚ United Nations Environment Program also produced a very interesting report all referring to Korea. So‚ we are a leading country in this particular issue and we help to re-enforce this process across the world. As I said‚ developed country have capacity to emulate what we are doing‚ but developing countries do not have a capacity. So‚ we are trying to help in these countries to adopt and promote our paradigm."
