Meanwhile‚ the OECD says the Korean government should increase its budget for student financial aid.
That's according to a report titled "A Framework for Growth and Social Cohesion" released on Tuesday at the 2011 Global Green Growth Summit in Seoul.
It said Korea has the third most expensive college tuition among the 34 OECD member countries‚ but that it lacks funding for government scholarships and student loans.
Government-funded scholarships in Korea make up 4.4 percent of the nation's public education costs‚ which is well below the OECD average of 11.4 percent.
